ROSHI MASTERCRAFT

Old masters, new paths, inspirations.

I had thought long and hard about the brand, its meaning and relevance, my personal influences, the style and the right name.

It should be short, defined, traditionally anchored but clearly recognizable as modern and contemporary.

My influences are defined: German roots, European heritage, Brit style, American subculture and Japanese aesthetic sensibility.

"Robin's own shoes handmade individually" - Roshi.

Roshi (Japanese: Roshi)

The Rōshi (/ˈɹoʊ.ʃi/) is a title given to particularly experienced, authorized teachers in Zen Buddhism.

Rōshi (Roh-shi) translates as old teacher or old master and refers to a person who provides spiritual instruction to a Zen community.

Applied to the brand, the name "RŌSHI Mastercraft" stands for the skilled shoemakers who craft our shoes and the community of conscious individualists who are genuinely passionate about quality, style, and sustainability.

"Join me on the journey with RŌSHI and become a part of this new community."

Master Tanneries

Our leathers come from some of the world's most renowned tanneries. Top-grade leather from Germany, Italy, France, Spain, the USA, and Japan, expertly finished, certified gold and silver by the LWG.

Traditional crafts

In our factory, true masters of their craft work passionately on every pair of RŌSHI shoes, from cutting to the finished product. A traditional craft that has been practiced in Felgueiras since the 19th century.

Original welted

Each pair of shoes is traditionally hand-stuffed with natural cork to ensure a custom fit. The surrounding leather welt is stitched to the insole and outsole: robust, durable, and waterproof – Goodyear Welted.
